My Approach

I believe meaningful therapy happens through genuine human connection. This shapes how I structure my practice, with a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic relationship at the foundation of my work.

This space is client-centered, and supportive of curiosity and gentle challenge. I integrate several evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapies, mindfulness based approaches, and EMDR.

Together, we address patterns and underlying factors contributing to your concerns, develop greater self-acceptance, and develop practical tools and insight to confidently navigate life moving forward.

Who I Work With

I support clients wanting to change persistent beliefs of not being good enough, process and recover from painful experiences, and build a stronger sense of belonging, direction, and ease in life. Many of my clients initially come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed by self-critical or anxious thoughts, and are wanting more confidence navigating their emotions, relationships, and everyday stressors.

  • My work integrates several approaches depending on each client’s needs and goals. Sessions are goal-oriented while still allowing space for exploration and processing.

    Person-Centered Therapy

The core of this therapy is a supportive therapeutic relationship that fosters a safe, nonjudgmental space for self-exploration and emotional processing, encouraging greater self-acceptance and deeper understanding of your experiences and underlying needs.

Skill-Based Therapies (CBT, ACT, DBT, & Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction)

These approaches focus on developing practical strategies and insight, and are incorporated collaboratively to align with your personal goals and challenges.

    • Increase awareness of recurring patterns

    • Develop emotion regulation and distress tolerance skills

    • Practice behavioral and problem-solving strategies

    • Improve communication and boundaries

    • Clarify values that guide decision making

    • Develop present-moment awareness of inner experiences

    • Explore and cultivate fulfillment and meaning

    EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that can help process distressing experiences, and shift long-held negative beliefs. EMDR is thoughtfully integrated based on each client’s readiness and goals. Some clients may also pursue EMDR as a stand alone therapy.

  • Before establishing my practice, I gained valuable experience working as a therapist in community mental health and group practice settings.

    • Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Washington University

    • Practicing for 10 years

    • Independently licensed in OR State

    • National Certified Counselor (NCC) from the National Board for Certified Counselors

    • EMDR Level II Trained from the EMDRIA approved Institute for Creative Mindfulness

    • Former instructor for the Psychology Department at Columbus State Community College

    • EFiT Level 1 Trained (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy) from the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT)

  • I grew up in a rural, working-class community in western Washington and was a first-generation college student. After graduate school, I spent several years in the Midwest further developing my clinical experience before eventually returning to the Pacific Northwest.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy hiking, creative hobbies, spending time with friends, hanging out with my two cats, and catching a Portland Pickles game in the summer.
